Since April 29th, the wedding day of the Prince William and Princess Katherine,
people from around the world have been captivated by this young couple’s every move. From hosting dignitaries to planting trees to speaking in French to the Canadian people, all eyes and the media spotlight are on how they engage with each other, dress, and greet their many admirers. Fail to the Redskins - A Premium Brand Gone Awry
The Redskin Experience
Growing up in the Washington DC suburbs, there wasn’t a choice as to which football team I would follow. Eight times a year, my mom would load my brother and I up with Redskin jackets, jerseys, gloves and hats and off we would go with my Dad to the one and only RFK Stadium. Yes, I could sing the Team’s fight song at age 3 and there were no boundaries to my passion for the Washington Redskins.

What Does Amelia Bedelia Have to Do with B2B Branding?

Do you remember Amelia Bedelia books by Peggy Parish? Not exactly on the best-selling list among B2B marketers but for children across the world, Amelia’s literal interpretation of common phrases was unexpectedly and delightfully silly! “Dress the Turkey” for Thanksgiving and you would have a dapper looking bird with suspenders and a bow tie at the dinner table. So what would Miss Amelia do with “Brand the Firm?” I’m envisioning that she would sear everything from the company signage to the people (“ouch”) and even down to the walls and kitchenette with a red hot poker. Even though Amelia was known for her nutty antics, would her take on branding be truly that off the mark?

Penn State - the Breakdown of a Brand?

I'm a Penn Stater. I graduated in 1999 and have so much PSU gear and great memories. During my senior year of high school I remember looking at different colleges, thinking I might like the smaller school atmosphere, but then I made my first visit to Penn State. On the drive there you start seeing signs with Nittany Lions about two hours away and then when you get to State College, it's so evident the entire town and surrounding area is filled with so much pride. It just makes you want to be a part of it. I'm sure the college life at Penn State is a whole different experience for every student, but the pride is a shared feeling among students and alum and when you have that one shared connection with someone, it's like you already know them.

Outsourced Marketing vs. Advertising Agency – What’s the difference?
People don’t take much time to try to figure out what a company does. Mentally, they will slot a firm into a category regardless of whether it is a perfect fit for that bucket or not. Unfortunately, that is what happens to Marketri and we feel misunderstood!! Okay, so no pity parties here. Marketri happens to participate in a space that is emerging which is exciting and challenging at the same time. We are an outsourced marketing company.
Is It a Document or a Deliverable?
A document and a deliverable can be one and the same. And then again, they could be miles apart. “What’s the difference,” you ask? And further, “Why should I care?” Here’s my reply – it could very well be the difference between rising to the top in your career or not. That’s a pretty good reason for caring!
